Identity of Cordarius Revealed: Mother Arrested by Midland Police for Exploitation of Disabled Individual
Monday, August 21, 2023, Midland Police discovered the identity of the individual known as Cordarius. The ongoing investigation revealed the individual as 24-year-old Cordarius Lashun Pegues of Midland.
Cordarius is a non-verbal teen with a mental disability who was found wondering the streets alone back in January of this year. Authorities knew that his name was “Cordarius” because the teen wrote it down several times. He has been in the care of the state since then.
47-year-old Charlotte Latasha Pegues of Midland, the mother of Cordarius, was arrested today for Exploitation of a Disabled Individual.
The citizens of Midland, along with the abundance of concern for Cordarius nationwide, assisted officials involved with the case in identifying Cordarius. Officials with the City of Midland, the Midland Police Department, and all agencies involved, would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and help.
