Lewisville Police Make Second Arrest in Double-Murder Case

Lewisville Police Department has arrested a second man in connection with the double murder that occurred at a house in the 800 block of Ramblewood Drive.

The suspect, who was arrested today in Houston, is 51-year-old Jawara Oji Black. He is charged with two counts of Capital Murder. No bond has been set as he is waiting to be arraigned. There is no mugshot available at this time.

The victims have been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as 66-year-old Lilia Fernandez Ortiz and her son 43-year-old Alejandro Arrellano-Fernandez.

Their bodies were found on Monday, Aug. 14, inside the house in the 800 block of Ramblewood Drive, by a relative doing a welfare check after not being able to contact them for several days. Both victims had been shot.

One suspect, 37-year-old Samuel Atinafu Melkamu was arrested last week. He is charged with two counts of Capital Murder and is being held in the Denton County Jail on $500,000 bond.
