Houston Police Seeks Help in Identifying Suspect in Washington Avenue Shooting

Houston police are searching for a suspect involved in the shooting of a 20-year-old man in a parking lot at 5300 Washington Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on January 5.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s. Authorities have released photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to the shooting and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

According to witness statements and preliminary findings, the victim and the suspect were involved in an argument before the shooting. While witnesses did not see the actual gunfire, the suspect was observed carrying a black handgun in his waistband during the dispute.
