Former SpaceX Employee Arrested for Trespassing and Resisting Arrest
On Monday, February 26, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies were called to the SpaceX Installations on Hwy 4, Brownsville, Texas, around 12:30 AM, after reports of trespassing.
SpaceX Security informed deputies that a person had driven past no trespassing signs onto the property.
The driver, identified as Ruben Alexis Sanchez, claimed he wanted to show his friend the rockets and admitted to being a former SpaceX employee. Despite being reminded of the private property status, Sanchez remained silent. Consequently, Sheriff Deputies arrested him after he resisted entering the patrol unit, necessitating the use of minimal force. During transport to the County Jail, Sanchez continued to act disruptively.
Sanchez faces charges of Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transportation. He was taken to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
