Fatal Head-On Collision on North Freeway Under Investigation by Houston Police

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at around 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at 5700 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45).

According to authorities, a male driver, 26, was operating a black Honda Accord traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the North Freeway. The Honda collided head-on with a blue Toyota Rav4, which was traveling southbound on the same freeway.

The collision resulted in the deaths of both drivers involved. The identities of the victims, a 23-year-old female and the 26-year-old male, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both drivers deceased at the scene.

Houston police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
