Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Investigated on Almeda Road

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11500 Almeda Road around 2:35 p.m. last Friday, March 1st.

The identity of the deceased victim, a 58-year-old female, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to reports, the incident involved multiple vehicles.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the female driver of a white Hyundai Tucson was traveling southbound on Almeda Road when, for reasons yet to be determined, she failed to maintain her lane. As a result, the Hyundai crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a white Infiniti QX56.

Subsequently, the driver of the Infiniti lost control of her vehicle, veering into the southbound lanes. While spinning, the Infiniti was struck on the driver’s side door by a white Dodge 3500 pickup truck traveling southbound.

Tragically, the driver of the Infiniti sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Ben Taub General Hospital. The driver of the Hyundai, a 33-year-old, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was found not to be impaired. Fortunately, the driver of the Dodge truck emerged from the incident unharmed.

As of now, no charges have been filed, as the investigation into the crash is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
