Houston Man Charged With Murder After Fatal East Houston Shooting

HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in east Houston earlier this month, according to the Houston Police Department.

Andre Tronte Green, 28, has been charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court.

The victim’s identity has not yet been publicly released as investigators continue working with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to verify identification.

According to Houston Police Homicide Division investigators, officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 12:05 a.m. on June 19 in the 12800 block of Market Street.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim lying in the street and calling for help after suffering a gunshot wound.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Homicide investigators launched an investigation and subsequently identified Green as a suspect in the shooting.

Authorities said Green was arrested on June 20. During the investigation, he confessed to his involvement in the fatal shooting, according to police.

Following his arrest, Green was booked into the Harris County Jail.

The motive for the shooting has not been released, and investigators have not provided additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
