Double Homicide Under Investigation in Brownsville

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to a residence on the 6800 block of Greystone, Brownsville, following multiple reports of shots fired and a subject shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two male subjects unresponsive, each with multiple bullet wounds.

Emergency Medical Services promptly arrived at the scene and determined that both victims, identified as 24-year-old Jose Santiago Sanchez and 26-year-old Eduardo Sebastian Alamillo Martinez, were deceased. Sheriff Investigators initiated a murder investigation, collecting evidence and obtaining statements from witnesses.

Both victims were residents of Hidalgo County. A Cameron County Justice of the Peace ordered an autopsy to further examine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
