Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Southwest Freeway Under Investigation in Houston

A fatal crash occurred on the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) around 12:10 a.m. Sunday (January 28), prompting an investigation by the Houston Police Department.

The deceased has been identified as Clayton Craig, 32, who was operating a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the Southwest Freeway.

The incident unfolded when Craig suddenly changed lanes, colliding with a red GMC Envoy and subsequently striking an exit ramp barrier. He was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the freeway exit ramp. A black Toyota Camry, driven by another individual, then collided with the unoccupied motorcycle.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Clayton Craig dead at the scene. Both drivers of the GMC Envoy and Toyota Camry remained present, cooperated with authorities, and were subsequently released. No signs of intoxication were reported for either driver.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
