Charges Filed Against Suspect in Stabbing Incident on North Freeway

Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday, October 19, in the 5100 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) at around 8:55 p.m.

The suspect, identified as James L. Farmer, 47, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court. The victim, a 34-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Houston Police patrol officers responded to a call regarding a citizen chasing a vehicle that was reported to have an unconscious and injured woman along with a male suspect inside at the above address. Officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop along the 18800 block of the North Freeway, and detained Farmer, who was the driver.

Upon inspection, officers discovered the woman in the back seat of the vehicle with multiple stab wounds and provided immediate assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.

James L. Farmer was determined to be impaired and was believed to have ingested an unknown narcotic substance. As a result, he was also transported to an area hospital to receive treatment.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted in this matter, and James L. Farmer has subsequently been charged for his alleged role in the incident.
