Two Suspects Arrested After Armed Robberies in Montgomery and Liberty Counties

Montgomery County and Liberty County sheriff’s deputies worked together to arrest two suspects connected to armed robberies reported in both counties on Saturday.
At approximately 11:17 a.m. on January 10, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 26600 block of FM 1485 in New Caney. While deputies were en route, Montgomery County dispatchers advised that a similar robbery had just occurred in Liberty County on FM 1010 near Colony Ridge.
Deputies were provided with a detailed description of the suspects and their vehicle. An MCSO deputy later spotted a vehicle matching that description and attempted a traffic stop. The suspects failed to stop, leading to a brief pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed on Manion Drive. The suspects then fled on foot into a wooded area.
Liberty County deputies, who were already familiar with the suspects due to ongoing investigations into several robbery-related vehicles, continued assisting in the search. A vehicle associated with previous robberies was later located in Cleveland. Liberty County units stopped the vehicle and found two men whose clothing matched the description of the suspects involved in the FM 1485 robbery.
Evidence collected at the scene, along with witness statements, linked the two men to the armed robbery. Twenty-year-old Octavio Avalo Flores and 23-year-old Osmar Tenorio Flores were taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Robbery. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and continue to investigate the case. Authorities stated the suspects’ citizenship status is also being reviewed, and if either is found to be in the country illegally, an ICE hold may be placed.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office credited the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for its cooperation, noting that the coordinated response and information sharing between agencies played a key role in the swift arrests.
