Austin Police Seize $200K in Cash, Drugs in Major Bust

AUSTIN, Texas—A months-long narcotics investigation culminated in the arrest of an Austin man and the seizure of a significant amount of cash and drugs.
On Wednesday, September 3, the Austin Police Department Narcotics Support Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Red River Street as part of a drug trafficking investigation. The investigation identified Jesse Carrillo as a suspect.
During the search, detectives seized:
- 20.4 pounds of marijuana
- 194 THC vape cartridges
- 2,900 grams of suspected psilocybin-laced candy bars
- 8.6 grams of cocaine
- Over $200,000 in U.S. currency
Carrillo was arrested without incident and has been charged with Money Laundering, a second-degree felony, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony. Additional charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
