Cedar Park Gun Suspect Arrested in Temple After Three Flee Traffic Stop, Police Say

CEDAR PARK, Texas – A Temple man wanted after police said he threw a handgun equipped with a machine gun conversion device from a vehicle during a July pursuit has been arrested following another chase in Temple.

Edzaven Green was taken into custody Sept. 16 after Cedar Park Police detectives traveled to Temple to locate him.

The case began July 12 when Cedar Park officers pursued a vehicle through the city. During the pursuit, police said a passenger threw a Glock handgun from the vehicle before fleeing from officers into Brushy Creek.

Officers recovered the gun and found it was equipped with a machine gun conversion device, commonly called a “Glock switch,” which can enable a semiautomatic handgun to fire automatically.

Cedar Park detectives later identified Green as the passenger and obtained a warrant charging him with prohibited weapons involving a machine gun, a third-degree felony.

On Sept. 16, Cedar Park detectives worked with the Temple Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit to conduct surveillance for Green.

At about 4 p.m., investigators spotted Green getting into a vehicle with several other people. Temple officers stopped the vehicle, and three passengers ran, police said.

Officers established a perimeter and eventually captured all three, including Green.

During the foot pursuit, investigators said Green discarded another handgun. Police said the other two individuals also discarded firearms, including one equipped with another machine gun conversion device.

All three face additional charges related to evading arrest or detention.

Temple Police also identified the other two people as suspects in multiple violent crimes, according to Cedar Park Police. Authorities did not release their names or provide details about those investigations.

Investigators believe all three are affiliated with a hybrid street gang in Temple. Police did not identify the gang or provide additional information about the suspected affiliation.

Cedar Park Police said the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also assisted with the investigation.
