Young Suspect Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Country Creek Drive

Houston police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on the 9300 block of Country Creek Drive around 9:50 p.m. on September 5, 2025.

The suspect, 20-year-old Yimy Ricardo Ulloa-Padilla, faces charges of failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving death in the 262nd Criminal District Court, as well as driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #11.

The victim, 34-year-old Ricky Ornelas, was struck while walking in a moving lane of traffic by a white Ford F150 traveling southbound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Ornelas deceased at the scene.

Officers later located the Ford truck at 11660 West Bellfort Avenue and detained Ulloa-Padilla. Investigators determined the suspect was impaired at the time of the crash. Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Ulloa-Padilla was arrested and booked into custody.
