Mother Arrested After 2-Year-Old Found Walking Alone in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman was arrested after deputies found a 2-year-old child walking alone and unsupervised, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.
Deputies responded Thursday, April 16, 2026, to a call regarding a small child found wandering alone in the area.
When deputies arrived, they secured the child and determined the toddler was in good health.
Authorities said the child’s mother, identified as 32-year-old Natalie Carmona, returned a short time later and told deputies she had left the child at home while taking her other children to school.
The child was released to a responsible adult, officials said.
Carmona was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of abandoning a child with intent to return.
Her bond was set at $10,000 by the 178th District Court.
