Woman Charged With Child Endangerment After Road Rage Crash on Tomball Tollway

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman has been charged with child endangerment after deputies say a road rage incident ended in a crash with two young children inside her vehicle.
According to Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies responded Monday, July 6, to the 28200 block of the Tomball Tollway for a reported single-vehicle crash.
Deputies identified the driver as Ariana Heggy.
During the investigation, Heggy told deputies she had been involved in a road rage incident with another driver. Investigators said she admitted attempting to follow the other vehicle as it exited the roadway to avoid her, causing her to lose control.
Her vehicle struck an impact attenuator, commonly known as crash barrels, and a concrete Jersey barrier.
Deputies discovered that Heggy’s two young children, ages 2 and 1, were inside the vehicle during the crash and were not properly secured in child safety seats.
Heggy was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of Child Endangerment.
Her bond was set at $5,000 by the 183rd District Court.
“Road rage puts everyone at risk, but choosing to engage in aggressive driving while transporting young children is especially dangerous,” Constable Mark Herman said. “Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries in this incident. We encourage motorists to avoid escalating confrontations on the roadway and to always ensure children are properly secured in age-appropriate car seats before every trip.”
