In a joint effort, investigators from Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s Office and the Houston SPCA rescued two kittens from severe abuse last June. The rescue followed a report from a veterinary clinic, alerting officials to the chronic physical abuse suffered by the three-month-old felines.

Graham William Reid of Sugar Land faced the consequences of his actions when he was convicted of two counts of felony animal cruelty in Harris County on October 31, 2023. The investigation revealed that both kittens exhibited multiple rib fractures, with one also suffering from an apparent head fracture.

Reid had a prior encounter with the law, having been arrested and charged with four counts of felony animal cruelty in Fort Bend County in April 2021. Despite posting a $25,000 bond, he found himself back in legal trouble due to the recent charges.

“Reporting animal cruelty saved both of those kittens’ lives and ended his vicious cycle of animal abuse,” stated Jay Chase, Chief of Animal Cruelty Investigations at the Houston SPCA.
