Third Arrest Made in Houston Double Homicide Case From February 2023
Camrese Holloway

Charges have been filed against a third suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of two men and the wounding of another on February 4, 2023.

20-year-old Camrese Holloway is now facing charges of capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 184th State District Court.

The two other suspects, Markeith Eric Simpson, 26, and Chase Franklin Williams, 18, are also charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 208th and 338th State District Courts, respectively.

The charges stem from their alleged involvement in the killings of Reginald Reed, 58, and Brandon Forbes, 23, and the injuring of a 32-year-old man.

The incident came to light when HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 14110 Buffalo Speedway, discovering Mr. Forbes unresponsive in the median with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, he was pronounced deceased. Subsequently, officers learned of another shooting nearby at 14137 Fleetwell Drive.

Upon arriving at Fleetwell Drive, officers found Mr. Reed unresponsive on the front porch of a residence. Paramedics pronounced him deceased due to gunshot wounds. Another man approached officers, reporting that he had also been shot at the location. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital in stable condition.

The investigation identified Chase Franklin Williams as a suspect, leading to his arrest on February 6, 2023. Markeith Eric Simpson was later arrested on August 30, 2023, after being identified as a second suspect.

Camrese Holloway, the third suspect, was identified in the course of the investigation and subsequently charged in May. On Monday, January 8, 2024, he was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The Houston Detectives are credited for their efforts in bringing the case to a close. The fate of these three murder suspects will now be determined by the Harris County courts.
