Texas City Man Faces Multiple Child Pornography Charges

TEXAS CITY, Texas—A Texas City man was arrested on Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at his home as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation.
On August 19, members of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force executed a search warrant at the Windsor Estates Apartments at 2801 FM 2004 Rd. Detectives seized a cell phone and narcotics from the residence. A subsequent examination of the phone revealed evidence of child pornography.
The suspect was identified as Chase Busby, 20. He was charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Possession with Intent to Promote Child Pornography, and Possession or Promotion of Lewd Visual Material Depicting a Child. His total bond was set at $180,000. Charges for the narcotics are pending analysis.
The investigation began in July when Detective A. Espinosa, a member of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force, received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged the assistance of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force, which includes participants from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) – Galveston, Texas City, La Marque, Dickinson, La Porte, and Hitchcock Police Departments, as well as the Crime Scene Unit.
