Suspect in June 2024 Fatal Shooting on Jutland Road in Custody

Danny Botley, 37, has been charged with murder in the 184th State District Court for the fatal shooting of Devin Bell, 26, at 8119 Jutland Road around 4:30 a.m. on June 22. Botley is currently in custody in Flint, Michigan. A photo of Botley is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported that HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the duplex residence and found Bell unresponsive in the driveway, having been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Bell deceased at the scene.

Witnesses indicated that an argument between Bell and an unknown suspect may have occurred before the shooting. Further investigation identified Botley as the suspect, and charges were filed against him on July 31.

On August 29, Flint Police Department officers arrested Botley without incident. He is awaiting extradition back to Harris County.
