Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 6303 Eastland Street that occurred about 2:40 p.m. on October 9.

The suspect, identified as Javunte Jerome Bradshaw, 30, now faces a murder charge in the 487th State District Court.

The victim in this incident has been identified as Soldem Harris, aged 49. The Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a convenience store parking lot at the aforementioned address and discovered Mr. Harris with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene. Mr. Harris was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary investigation and evidence from the scene have indicated that a physical altercation occurred between Harris and the male suspect, which ultimately led to the fatal shooting. At the time of the incident, the suspect, described only as a heavy-set black male, fled the scene in a gray 2023 Toyota Camry with Texas license plates TFR2377, along with two other males.

On October 10, detectives released surveillance photos of the suspect, one of the males, and the wanted vehicle, all of which are attached to this news release. Further investigation led to the positive identification of the suspect in the photo as Javunte Jerome Bradshaw. Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Bradshaw was officially charged for his involvement in the incident.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Javunte Jerome Bradshaw, the person of interest or the wanted vehicle is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
