Man Shot by Woman During Child Custody Altercation, Suspect Remains At-Large
Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on October 8 at 9800 Hollock Street. The suspect, identified as Chasity Nicole Bougere, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 183rd State District Court. Bougere is not in custody and remains at-large.
The victim, also 24 years old, was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) received a call about a shooting at the apartment complex located at 9800 Hollock Street around 10:55 p.m. on the mentioned date. Upon arrival, HPD patrol officers learned that the incident was the result of a physical altercation related to a child custody situation. During the altercation, the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.
Subsequently, the victim was no longer present at the scene, as they were transported to an area hospital by a private vehicle shortly after the incident. Following a preliminary investigation and the collection of evidence at the scene, Chasity Nicole Bougere was identified as the suspect responsible for the shooting.
Upon consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were officially filed against Bougere for her involvement in the incident. As of now, Bougere remains at large, and authorities are actively seeking her whereabouts.
