Suspect Hides in Stranger’s Home After Harris County Pursuit, Arrested

A suspect led Harris County Precinct 3 deputies on a vehicle pursuit Tuesday before attempting to evade capture by hiding inside a stranger’s home.
Day Shift Deputies observed a black Chevrolet Malibu with an unreadable and unsecured temporary tag in the 8800 block of Kentshire Drive. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, initiating a pursuit.
The vehicle came to a stop in the 9400 block of Madera Street in northeast Houston, where the suspect abandoned the car and ran on foot. While searching the area, deputies were approached by a nearby homeowner who granted them permission to enter their residence. Inside, deputies located and detained the suspect, identified as Jailan Samuel.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges against Samuel for evading in a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Harris County Jail, where he was booked.
