Shooting Incident in Dallas Involving Stolen Vehicle Leads to Vehicle Crash
Dallas Police are looking to identify a suspect in a shooting in the 3600 block of Sunnyvale Street and have released the following video to the public.
On February 25, 2023, at approximately 2:45 PM, Dallas Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3600 block of Sunnyvale Street. The incident occurred when two groups met at the location, one consisting of the owner of a stolen Dodge Ram and the other comprised of the suspects who had stolen the vehicle. Their intention was to negotiate the sale of the stolen truck back to the owner.
According to the preliminary investigation, a confrontation erupted between the two groups. As the suspects departed the scene in a dark Jeep Cherokee, a member from the other party opened fire, discharging multiple rounds at the fleeing vehicle.
However, during the exchange, an uninvolved driver happened to be passing by in his vehicle. Tragically, the driver’s vehicle was struck by the gunfire, causing him to lose control and crash. Fortunately, the driver did not sustain any injuries as a result of the gunfire, and all other individuals involved in the altercation promptly left the scene.
The Dallas Police Department has launched an ongoing investigation into the incident, which has been assigned the case number 032759-2023.
