Odessa Police Seek Assistance in Identifying City Hall Vandal

The Odessa Police Department (OPD) is reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying a criminal responsible for vandalizing City Hall located at 411 W. 8th Street.

The incident of criminal mischief took place at approximately 12:18 am on January 25, 2024, leaving behind significant damage to the glass doors on the north side of the building. The vandal reportedly used an ashtray receptacle to carry out the act.

Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made, and there is limited information about the suspect at this time. The city employees were understandably shaken by the incident.

In response to the security breach, City Hall has implemented new security measures, including a recently installed security badge system designed to enhance the safety of employees and citizens.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a dark-colored hoodie, jeans, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack. The OPD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
