League City Police Collaborate with Baytown and U.S. Postal Inspectors in Arresting Two for Identity Fraud and Uncovering Stolen Mail Cache

In a joint operation on January 18, 2024, the League City Police Department collaborated with the Baytown Police Department and U.S. Postal Inspectors in a traffic stop within League City. The outcome of the stop led to the arrest of a male and female, both facing charges of Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information. The male suspect’s bond was set at $80,000, while the female’s bond was established at $50,000.

The Baytown Police Department and U.S. Postal Inspectors are actively investigating the duo for their alleged involvement in burglaries targeting a Post Office in Baytown and multiple other Post Offices across the Houston area. The ongoing nature of the investigation necessitates the withholding of the suspects’ identities until formal charges are filed.

Utilizing video surveillance, law enforcement identified the suspects’ vehicle as a rental box truck, with the license plate entered into the Flock Safety system. On the same day, January 18, 2024, BPD investigators received a Flock alert indicating the presence of the vehicle in League City. Coordinating efforts, they worked with LCPD to execute a traffic stop for violations.

During the operation, authorities recovered several items of stolen mail, including packages and identifying information, along with other stolen merchandise. The League City Police Department filed charges against the male and female for Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information.
