Humble Police Arrests Suspects After High-Speed Chase Following Theft Attempt

On Thursday afternoon, August 22nd, officers from Humble Police Department responded to a call regarding a potential theft at a local business in the 1700 block of E 1st St. The caller reported that a male was attempting to use another person’s driver’s license to purchase approximately $3,800 worth of merchandise under an account that did not belong to him.

Upon arrival, officers saw the suspects entering a red pickup truck, driven by another male. The officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over, leading to a pursuit.

During the chase, the passenger in the truck began tearing up papers and throwing them out the window, along with other items. The suspects headed eastbound on E FM 1960 Bypass towards Atascocita. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 was alerted and deployed multiple units, including a K-9 Unit, to assist.

The vehicle eventually stopped in the 18600 block of Timbers Dr. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail. Officers and deputies recovered most of the discarded items, and CID/Detectives were called in to investigate possible additional fraudulent purchases from other locations.
