Hostages Rescued in College Station Domestic Incident, Suspect Arrested

A tense hostage situation unfolded on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024, at Fox Meadows Apartments on Balcones Dr in College Station, where a woman and two young children were held by an armed man. Swift action by College Station Police Department’s SWAT Team, Patrol Officers, and Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) ensured the safe resolution of the incident.

Authorities responded to a 911 text reporting that a woman was being held against her will by her armed ex-boyfriend inside an apartment. Two young children were also present, heightening the urgency of the response.

The woman managed to escape the apartment, leaving the children inside. SWAT officers made a covert entry into the unit, rescuing the children and apprehending the suspect, who was asleep in another room.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Dameont Lontray Jackson, was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He faces multiple charges, including:

  • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • Burglary of a Habitation

Police revealed that the firearm used in the incident had been reported stolen to CSPD last week. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
