Hit and Run Suspect Arrested After Assaulting Witness That Followed Him in Harris County
On January 14, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a hit and run crash at N Eldridge Pkwy and Spring Cypress Road. A witness, who observed the incident, followed the suspect as they fled the scene.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old David Hoevker, exited his vehicle upon reaching his gated community in the 13500 block of Columbia Key Drive. Subsequently, Hoevker pulled the witness out of their vehicle and assaulted them.
The witness managed to escape and promptly informed deputies of the suspect’s location.
Deputies located Hoevker at his residence and placed him under arrest. He was booked into the Harris County Jail, facing charges of Fail to Stop and Give Information as well as Assault. Hoevker’s bond was set at $200.00 by County Court 11.
