Head-On Collision on Brittmoore Road Results in Fatality

On December 15, 2024, units from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, District 4, responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5900 Brittmoore Road, Houston, Texas. The crash occurred when a Nissan traveling southbound crossed over the center median into the northbound lanes and struck a Volkswagen head-on.

Rene Garza Jr., the male occupant of the Nissan, was found unresponsive at the scene. A deputy attempted CPR before EMS personnel arrived and continued life-saving efforts. Garza was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Nissan, Garza, failed to remain in his lane and was not wearing a seatbelt. This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
