The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has joined hands with Lights On! to introduce a groundbreaking program aimed at replacing traditional traffic tickets with repair vouchers.

Under this innovative initiative, individuals with valid driver’s licenses and insurance can now qualify for vouchers worth up to $250. These vouchers can be used to cover the costs of repairing inoperable headlights, taillights, turn signals, or license plate lights at approved repair shops.

The Lights On! program officially launches today, November 1, in the East Harris County and East Aldine area. Plans are already in place for the program’s expansion into other districts in the months to come.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Foundation has played a pivotal role in making this collaboration possible and ensuring the successful implementation of the program.
