Fatal Shooting in Travis County: Waco Man Detained as Investigation Unfold
Arrested: George Nolden

In a late-night incident on October 22, at approximately 11:56 p.m., a Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) patrol deputy was flagged down by a man parked on the roadway in the 1700 block of Wells Branch Parkway. The deputy was directed to a victim with multiple gunshot wounds in the backseat of a 2023 red Nissan Sentra 4-door with front-end damage.

The victim, identified as 29-year-old Nahiean Edwin Wright from Killeen, was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.

The individual who flagged down the deputies, 32-year-old George Nolden from Waco, was detained by authorities and remains in TCSO custody as the investigation unfolds. It has been revealed that the involved parties were known to one another.

Evidence collected thus far indicates that the shooting did not occur at the location where the victim was discovered, but rather at a different location. Additionally, the red Nissan Sentra had been involved in a recent collision, adding complexity to the ongoing investigation.
