Harris County Deputies Uncover Multi-Crime Operation During Hotel Search

HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two suspects and seized a significant amount of evidence after uncovering a larger criminal operation during a theft and extortion investigation on October 10.

The Burglary & Theft Unit assisted District 1 Patrol in the investigation, which led authorities to a hotel room where they discovered evidence of identity theft, narcotics trafficking, and illegal firearm possession. Deputies executed a search warrant, recovering dozens of stolen IDs, passports, and credit cards, as well as stolen U.S. mail and federal mailbox keys, computers and digital evidence, narcotics valued at $45,000–$50,000, and illegal firearms with ammunition.

Officials commended the swift action and teamwork of District 1 Patrol and Burglary & Theft detectives, noting their role in keeping the community safe.
