Grand Jury to Review Fatal Road Rage Shooting on North State Highway 6

The fatal shooting of 39-year-old Henry Hooper on April 13 at 1100 North State Highway 6 will be presented to a Harris County grand jury, according to Houston police.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported that officers responding to a shooting call found Hooper lying in the roadway near his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses indicated that a verbal altercation stemming from a road rage incident occurred between Hooper and the occupants of a white Volkswagen hatchback moments before the shooting. The suspects fled westbound on Park Row Boulevard. Investigators previously released surveillance photos of the wanted vehicle and two Hispanic male suspects, possibly in their 20s.

Further investigation led to the identification of the occupants of the white Volkswagen, and investigators have since spoken with both individuals. Additional surveillance video was also obtained. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was then contacted, and it was determined that the case will be reviewed by a grand jury.
