FBI Seeks Potential Victims in Lubbock Child Enticement Investigation

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking potential victims and witnesses to come forward as agents continue investigating a former educator recently charged with enticement of a minor.
According to the FBI’s Dallas Division-Lubbock Resident Agency, investigators are seeking to identify individuals who may have been victimized by Joseph Gonzalez.
Federal authorities believe Gonzalez primarily targeted students associated with Monterey High School in Lubbock and Shallowater High School between 2022 and 2026. Investigators have indicated that band students may have been among those targeted.
The FBI is encouraging anyone who believes they, or their minor dependent, may have been victimized by Gonzalez to complete a victim information form provided by the agency.
Officials are also asking members of the public who know potential victims to encourage them to contact investigators directly. You can also submit a form at https://forms.fbi.gov/victims/seeking-victim-information-in-joseph-gonzalez-investigation/view.
The FBI stated that federal law requires investigators to identify victims of crimes under investigation. Individuals identified as victims may be eligible for services, restitution and protections provided under federal and state law.
Participation is voluntary, but information submitted may assist investigators and help authorities identify additional victims.
The FBI noted that individuals who submit information may be contacted by investigators for additional details as the investigation progresses.
Authorities emphasized that the identities of victims will be kept confidential.
The investigation remains ongoing.
