Fatal Crash on North Freeway Leaves One Dead, Several Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision
On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at approximately 8:55 PM, a fatal crash occurred in the 16000 block of North Freeway (I-45). A silver 2015 Honda Civic, traveling northbound on the main lanes, failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a silver 2022 Kia SUV. The impact caused the Kia to lose control, and it was then struck by a silver 2018 BMW sedan.
The occupants of the Kia and BMW were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. However, the male driver of the Honda Civic was found at the scene with no signs of life. The driver, whose identity remains unknown, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Harris County ESD 11 EMS responded to the scene. Preliminary investigations have ruled out seatbelt use but have not yet determined whether intoxication played a role in the collision. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is actively investigating the incident. The final findings of the investigation are still pending.
