Fatal Collision in Amarillo Claims Life of 26-year-old Woman, High-Speed a Factor

On Friday afternoon in Amarillo, TX, one person lost their life in a collision on Amarillo Boulevard West and Tennessee. At approximately 3:51 p.m., Amarillo Police responded to the scene where a red Chevrolet Suburban and a Gray Nissan sedan were involved in a devastating crash.

The investigation revealed that the Suburban was traveling west on Amarillo Boulevard, while the Nissan was heading east at a high rate of speed. The collision occurred when the front of the Suburban collided with the passenger side of the Nissan.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital.

26-year-old Kaylaa Kirkland, the driver of the Nissan, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the Suburban sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical care.

The investigation is ongoing.
