Plainview Man Pleads Guilty to Producing Child Pornography
Alejandro Aguirre

Alejandro Aguirre, 28, of Plainview, Texas, pleaded guilty to Production of Child Pornography, announced Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham. Aguirre entered his guilty plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Amanda ‘Amy’ R. Burch and was immediately taken into custody pending sentencing.

In June 2023, the Amarillo Police Department (APD) received information that Aguirre was contacting minors through social media and had engaged in sexual intercourse with at least one minor. A 16-year-old minor stated during a forensic interview that Aguirre had sexual intercourse with her in Amarillo.

During an interview with APD detectives, Aguirre admitted to having sex with the minor and recording it on his cell phone. A search warrant for his phone revealed a video, but the minor in the video was not the one initially interviewed.

APD officers contacted the Plainview Police Department, who identified the minor in the video as a 16-year-old Plainview resident. This minor stated during a forensic interview that Aguirre had messaged her on social media and that he had recorded their sexual intercourse in Plainview.

Aguirre faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison. His sentencing date has not been set.

The Amarillo Police Department and Plainview Police Department conducted the investigation with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Dallas Field Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Rancourt is prosecuting the case.
