Driver Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter After Fatal Head-On Crash in Harris County

A fatal head-on collision on Saturday, March 8, 2025, led to the arrest of a driver on intoxication manslaughter charges.

Deputies with Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 13800 block of the Hardy Toll Road following reports of a major crash. Upon arrival, deputies found that one driver had died at the scene.

The at-fault driver, identified as 25-year-old Jasmine Arteaga, displayed signs of intoxication. She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A blood warrant was obtained and executed.

Arteaga was later arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with intoxication manslaughter. Her bond was set at $250,000 out of the 338th District Court.
