Colorado Murder Suspect Arrested in Texas by Montgomery County Authorities

On the morning of August 15, 2024, law enforcement officials in Montgomery County, Texas, successfully apprehended a murder suspect who had fled from Colorado. The arrest took place in Spring, Texas, following a coordinated effort led by Montgomery County Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Investigations Division and Criminal Interdiction Unit. With critical information provided by officials in Colorado, Precinct 3 units, supported by the US Marshals and members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, located and arrested 20-year-old Blake Andrew Warren.

Warren was wanted by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado in connection with a homicide that occurred on April 5, 2024, at the Urban Phenix Apartments in the 4700 block of East Mississippi Avenue in Glendale, Colorado. Two individuals were shot during the incident, but only one, 20-year-old Gianni Fernandez, succumbed to his injuries. According to police, “The victim invited a woman to the complex, who was later seen opening the security gate for two individuals.”

After tracking Warren to a local residence in Spring, Texas, deputies were able to take him into custody without incident. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail, awaiting extradition to Colorado.
