Colorado Murder Suspect Arrested in La Marque Following Multi-Agency Operation
On August 6, 2024, detectives from the Aurora Police Department contacted the La Marque Police Department regarding a homicide suspect from Colorado who was believed to be in the La Marque area. The La Marque Police Department was provided with information on the suspect and a likely vehicle.
On the morning of August 7, members of the La Marque Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit and Patrol Division located both the suspect vehicle and the suspect in the 2900 block of John Drive, La Marque.
Following a coordinated operation by the La Marque Police Department, the suspect, John Edwards, 53, from Colorado, was taken into custody without incident. Edwards has been transported to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Jail facility pending extradition to Colorado, with no bond set.
