Carjacking Suspect Detained After Pursuit; Woman Found Shot Inside Stolen Vehicle
On Wednesday, January 22, Harris County Precinct 5 deputies responded to a reported carjacking at a gas station on the 19200 block of Clay Road at Greenhouse. An adult female victim was allegedly carjacked at gunpoint but was found unharmed at the scene. The suspect fled in her vehicle.
Shortly after the incident, deputies located the stolen vehicle, prompting a brief pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect struck another vehicle and came to a stop near the entrance ramp of SH-99 and Clay Road, approximately two miles from the initial scene. The suspect was detained at the location.
In an unexpected twist, a second woman, not believed to be connected to the original carjacking victim, was discovered inside the stolen vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was initially transported to a hospital by ambulance but later airlifted in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect may have committed the carjacking before driving to the residence of his ex-girlfriend, who later ended up in the vehicle. It is suspected he shot her when she attempted to escape during the incident.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators are working multiple scenes to piece together the timeline of events. Further details remain under investigation.
