Brownsville Officer Shot in the Chest While Responding to a Call

Brownsville Police responded to a call about an open door on Coahuila Ct. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at approximately 10:02 pm.

Upon investigation on the property, the homeowner fired shots at the officers. One of the officers was shot in the chest.

The injured officer was transported to the hospital and is expected to fully recover, thanks to issued protective equipment.

The homeowner was questioned, and the case is under investigation with no charges announced yet.

UPDATE: On Thursday morning, the officer was released from the hospital.
