Brothers Busted with Drugs and Firearms During Police Search
Two brothers have been arrested following a substantial drug bust on Wednesday night.
The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on the 800 block of Boyd Street just off School Drive around 9 p.m.
According to officials, 22 pounds of Marijuana, over 300 THC vape pens, THC oil, THC gummies, two firearms, and other Marijuana by-products were seized from the residence. Investigators also seized $39,867 in what is believed to be profit from the narcotics.
Deputies say a Santa Muerte statue, covered in $50 and $100 bills, was seized from the property as well. The statue is a Folk Saint of “protection and safe delivery to the afterlife.” According to Chief Guerra, these statutes are often found in the possession of drug dealers seeking protection from law enforcement.
20-year-old Guadalupe Galvan Morena and 19-year-old Albert Benjamin Moreno were arrested on the scene. Both brothers were charged with Possession of Marijuana over 5 pounds and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, Tetrahydrocannabinol, over 400 grams. Their bonds are set at $310,000.
