Intoxicated Driver Found Asleep in Vehicle in the middle of West Road; Faces DWI and Drug Charges
On January 13, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report in the 16900 block of West Road in northwest Harris County concerning a male found passed out in a vehicle within a moving lane of traffic.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the driver, identified as 23-year-old Alexis Gomez, asleep behind the wheel.
Upon waking Gomez, deputies observed multiple signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, revealing that he was driving under the influence. Further investigation uncovered that Gomez was also in possession of cocaine.
Gomez has been arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He is facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance. As of now, bond and court information for Gomez have not been set.
