Humble Man Arrested After Juvenile Bicyclist Struck in Hit-and-Run, Constable Says

HUMBLE, Texas – A 49-year-old man accused of hitting a juvenile riding a bicycle home from school and leaving the scene has been arrested, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

Carlos Gonzalez was taken into custody Sept. 13 on a warrant for failure to stop and render aid.

The charge stems from a Sept. 11 collision in the 20200 block of Deerbrook Boulevard in Humble.

Investigators said a juvenile was riding a bicycle home from school when Gonzalez allegedly struck the child and drove away without stopping to provide assistance.

Authorities did not release the child’s age or provide information about the extent of the juvenile’s injuries.

Two days after the collision, deputies and a Precinct 4 K-9 team went to the 20400 block of Moon Walk Drive to serve the warrant.

Deputies located Gonzalez and took him into custody.

Gonzalez was booked into the Harris County Jail on the outstanding warrant. His bond was set at $10,000 by the 232nd District Court.
