Man Killed, Another Wounded in Shooting Outside Business in the Trinity-Houston Gardens Area

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one man dead and another wounded outside a business in northeast Houston.

Officers with the Houston Police Department responded at approximately 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, to a shooting at the corner of Laura Koppe Road and Lockwood Drive in the Trinity/Houston Gardens area.

When officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old man lying in the parking lot of the business with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

A second man, who police said was sitting inside a vehicle when the shooting occurred, was also struck by gunfire. He was transported to a hospital by private vehicle and is listed in stable condition.

According to investigators, witnesses reported seeing a group of unidentified males firing weapons in the area before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

No suspect information has been released.
