Teen Charged in Deadly Houston Party Shooting That Killed Two, Injured Four

HOUSTON, Texas — A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a mass shooting at a Houston party venue that left two teenagers dead and four others wounded, according to the Houston Police Department.

Jakorian Mouton is charged with capital murder and tampering with evidence in the 497th State District Court.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2024, at a party venue known as “The Curfew Club” in the 10100 block of Jensen Drive.

The victims who died were identified as 14-year-old A’Ziria Bankhead and 16-year-old Randle King.

Four additional victims, all female, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sgt. M. Cass and Detective J. Brown, officers responding to reports of gunfire arrived to find large numbers of juveniles and young adults fleeing the venue.

Investigators determined that King died at the scene. Several injured victims were transported by ambulance, while another victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.

Witnesses told police they saw a gunman firing a pistol into the crowd gathered at the venue. The suspect was described as a tall, thin Black male wearing black clothing, a black hooded sweatshirt and a black face covering.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Mouton as the suspected shooter.

On June 9, 2026, officers with the Beaumont Police Department and members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force located and arrested Mouton in Beaumont.

He was subsequently charged for his alleged role in the shooting and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
