2 Suspects Arrested in Houston Facebook Marketplace Armed Robbery Scheme

HOUSTON — Two suspects, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a series of aggravated robberies tied to fraudulent Facebook Marketplace sales across Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police identified one of the suspects as 23-year-old Joshua Landry. He has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 487th State District Court.
A second suspect, identified as a juvenile, was also charged. Authorities said no identifying information can be released because of the suspect’s age.
Investigators said the robberies followed a similar pattern.
According to police, Landry would advertise items for sale on Facebook Marketplace and negotiate prices with buyers online before arranging in-person meetings.
When victims arrived to complete the transactions, investigators said the suspects displayed a weapon and robbed the complainants before fleeing.
A detective with the Houston Police Robbery Division later identified Landry and the juvenile through follow-up investigation work.
Authorities said aggravated robbery charges were filed against both suspects on March 9, 2026, with an additional charge filed April 3.
Warrants were subsequently issued for both arrests.
On March 10, officers with the Houston Police Department Criminal Apprehension Team and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers developed an operational plan targeting the juvenile suspect.
During the operation, a DPS trooper attempted to detain the juvenile, who fled on foot before being captured and transported to a juvenile detention center.
Police said Landry was later located March 30 by officers assigned to the Houston Police Department Southeast Crime Suppression Team.
Authorities said Landry was arrested without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail on the aggravated robbery warrant.
