Austin Police: Pedestrian Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision, Driver Arrested for DWI

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:36 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a collision involving multiple vehicles and a pedestrian in the 6100 block of North IH-35 southbound.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One of the drivers, 33-year-old Jarrel A. Broussard, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

This case is being investigated as Austin’s 69th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 73 traffic-related deaths. By comparison, on this date in 2024, Austin had recorded 59 fatal crashes with 64 deaths.
